Wine Advocate 88 points - San Felice’s 2005 Chianti Classico Riserva Il Grigio is a medium-bodied, easygoing Chianti with suggestions of berries, flowers and spices. It offers nice freshness and vibrancy, although the finish is a little compact. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012. (Oct 2008)

San Felice's cultural roots go back to the region's ancient Etruscan origins. The property passed through the hands of many owners, including the Church and various local families, eventually falling under the supervision of the late managing director, Enzo Morganti. He restructured and transformed San Felice, concentrating on high quality winemaking and systematic scientific research. Today, San Felice continues this tradition under winemaker Leonardo Bellacini. Respect for tradition is united with avant-garde viticultural research and experimentation, carried out on 18 hectares of vineyards in conjunction with the Department of Horticulture of the University of Florence. In 1968 San Felice released Vigorello, the first Super-Tuscan, years before they became fashionable. Both traditional Chianti Classico and innovative Tuscan blends, all of which are estate grown and bottled, round out the portfolio.
