"Firm in texture, with hints of loamy earth and white pepper playing against a lean bead of boysenberry and plum flavors on a medium frame. The finish persists nicely. Best from 2010 through 2015. 300 cases made." (Oct. 31, 2008) 92 points from the International Wine Review: "This Pinot Noir is sourced from the relatively young Winery Hill Vineyard. It is dark ruby in color and reveals aromas of black fruit and smoky oak. On the palate it displays a smooth silky texture with rich flavors of black fruit, charred oak, black pepper, and dark chocolate. It has soft tannins and a long finish." (April 2009) Located in Oregon's Dundee Hills, the 20-acre "Winery Hill Vineyard" is one of Domaine Serene's three estate vineyards. The dry-farmed jory soils are the perfect showcase for pinot fruit, especially in a year with such low yields. Cherry, blackberry, plum, raspberry and currant fruit punctuated by anise and allspice make for a heavenly bouquet. The palate shows blackberry-cherry cobbler, forest floor and black tea flavors, layered with fine tannins and finishing like a long, lingering kiss.
