A beauty, the 2006 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard exhibits sweet notes of raspberries, spring flowers, cherries, and strawberries. This subtly smoky/forest floor-flavored Pinot is made in a medium-bodied, feminine, elegant style. Enjoy this delicate but authoritative effort over the next 4-5 years. These wines were a remarkable discovery. Anderson Valley is becoming one of the “hot” new cool climate sources of not only white varietals, but also increasing quantities of high quality Pinot Noir. Breggo Cellars’ label pays homage to what used to be a robust sheep farming area, now replaced by grapevines. Winemaker/proprietor Doug Stewart is assisted by Ryan Hodgins, and together they have fashioned four brilliant white wines. Robert Parker 92 points (Dec 2007) Dried berry, plum and currant flavors have hints of herb and mineral, ending with a mix of sage and dusty berry.
